I was craving cauliflower today, which was strange and led me on a little investigation that in turn led to the discovery of this: Romanesco broccoli. Perhaps the most beautiful vegetable I've ever seen. Then I read this:

The vegetable resembles a cauliflower, but is of a light green color and the inflorescence (the bud) has an approximate self-similar character, with the branched meristems making a logarithmic spiral. The broccoli's shape could be described as fractal; each bud is composed of a series of smaller buds, all arranged in yet another logarithmic spiral.

Perhaps it's the most intellectual vegetable as well.

cue caprice and fancy for a portal to these latitudes...

spotted this on thecobrasnake and was shot spiraling back to the years 1994/95 when i had this exact tee in a smaller size and at a fiftieth of the cost. most graciously, i soon fell out of love with holy day regalia and grandma shirley's over-sized orthopedic shoes, toppling head-over-heels for bias cuts and vintage wing-tips. ahhhh...those were the glory days of youth and whimsy that ached and i still sometimes ache for.
